Project: NEPA FTA Environmental Review To Support Documented Categorical Exemption

Overview: Caltha conducted an Federal Transit Administration (FTA) environmental review of an new intermodal transportation facility being proposed by the City. Project planned to convert the existing industrial uses of the fully developed, urban area. The project first conducted a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment for all parcels to be acquired by the City for the project. The Environmental Review was then conducted in accordance with FTA requirements to comply with NEPA and included evaluations of:
- Statement of Purpose and Need
- Land Use
- Transportation
- Air Quality
- Noise
- Vibration
- Visual and Aesthetic Resources
- Cultural Resources and Parklands
- Ecosystems
- Geology
- Hydrology/Water Quality
- Hazardous/Regulated Materials
An EA report was prepared to support a Documented Categorical Exemption (dCE) for the project which was approved by the City and then by FTA.
